Apple Loaf



Ingredients:
1 stick butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softned
1 cup superfine sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
scant 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
scant 1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
2 tar apples, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 cup chocolate chips Optional

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, and extract and mix.
Sift tigether the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamom, and nutmeg. Gradually beat the dry ingredients, alternately with the milk, into butter mixture. Stir in apples and walnuts. Spoon into a greased 9-inch loaf pan.
Bake in preheated oven at 350ºF for 50 to 60 minutes in the pan. turn onto a rack to cool.
